Update the authenticated user's profile and preferences

Partial update of the acting user's own name, preferences (locale, timezone, theme) and descriptive profile fields. No id parameter and no gate beyond auth — a user always edits themselves. Locale/theme/timezone changes are reflected in the response and applied by the SPA on its next read. Presence is set via PUT /api/me/presence, not here.
