Platform access — letting ConnectWiz staff help
Sometimes it is quickest if somebody from ConnectWiz looks at your workspace directly — to finish a set-up with you, to check why a report shows what it shows, or to look into a problem you reported. Platform access is where you decide whether they may, and how far.
It is off for every workspace until one of your administrators turns it on.
Open Settings → Security → Platform access (ConnectWiz). Only administrators of the workspace see this card and can change it — it is not a permission that can be given to another member.
The three levels
| Level | What ConnectWiz staff can do |
|---|---|
| Off (default) | Nothing. They cannot open your workspace's data. |
| Read only | Look at your data — conversations, contacts, leads, reports — to help you. They cannot change anything. |
| Read and write | Look, and also act on your behalf: make the changes you asked for, reply to your customers, write notes. |
Choose a level and press Save. Nothing changes until you save.
Who the changes appear as
With Read and write, choose under Changes appear as whose name the changes carry in your workspace:
- ConnectWiz (platform) — the default. This is not a member: it takes no seat, cannot sign in and does not appear on your team list. It can do what an administrator of your workspace can — except the owner's own settings — and that includes replying to your customers and writing notes. Your team sees ConnectWiz (platform) as the author of those replies and notes in the inbox and on the phone; your customers see an ordinary reply from your business, with no ConnectWiz name on it.
- One of your members — changes then appear under that member's name, and that member's own permissions still apply: ConnectWiz staff cannot do more than the member could.
Either way, the audit log also records which ConnectWiz staff member made the change.
If the member you chose later leaves the workspace or is disabled, changes appear as ConnectWiz (platform) again, and the card tells you so. Choose another member, or save ConnectWiz (platform).
Seeing every access
Every access by ConnectWiz staff, and every change to this setting, is written to your workspace's own audit log. The card lists the last 90 days under Recent platform access: who, what and when.
ConnectWiz staff each sign in with their own account and two-factor authentication, so an access always names a person.
Switching it off
Choose Off and press Save. It applies immediately.
A ConnectWiz support session ("signed in as your workspace") can see this card but cannot change it — only your own administrators can.
Platform access is how ConnectWiz, as the processor of your data, works in your workspace on your instruction. It does not change what your own team can see or do.
