eBay

Connect your eBay seller account and four things arrive in ConnectWiz:

  • Buyer messages and listing questions, as inbox conversations. Every eBay conversation is its own conversation in the inbox, with the listing it is about beside it. You answer with text and files, and the buyer reads the answer in eBay's own message centre.
  • Feedback, in Comments. What buyers leave you appears under Comments, with its rating, and you can reply to it once.
  • Orders and returns, on the contact card. Wiz can use them to answer "where is my order?".
  • The buyer, on every channel. An eBay buyer is the same person whether they write to you on eBay, on WhatsApp or anywhere else.

Before you start

Available once ConnectWiz's eBay application is approved

eBay only lets an application read seller accounts after eBay has approved it. Until then the eBay card in the channel catalogue carries a Coming soon badge and cannot be opened. The card is not broken: the channel is waiting on eBay's side. It opens by itself as soon as the approval is in place.

  • Plan. eBay is a premium channel, like Trendyol and Hepsiburada. It is available on plans that include premium channels and uses one channel slot. See Plans and subscription.
  • An eBay seller account. That is all. There are no keys or codes to copy.

Connect

  1. Go to Settings → Channels → Add channel → eBay.
  2. Choose Import history: None, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. Messages, feedback and orders from that window are imported quietly: no notifications, no AI answers. eBay hides buyer details on orders older than 90 days, so 90 days is the most there is.
  3. Click Connect with eBay. eBay's own sign-in page opens.
  4. Sign in with your seller account and allow ConnectWiz access. eBay shows that page in English, also to sellers in Turkey. That is expected: you are on eBay's own site.
  5. eBay sends you back to ConnectWiz, which says eBay account connected. Messages and feedback start arriving shortly.

ConnectWiz asks eBay for this access, and nothing else:

  • read and answer your buyer messages and listing questions;
  • read your feedback and reply to it;
  • read your orders;
  • read your returns and eBay cases;
  • read your eBay user name and home site, to know which account this is.

ConnectWiz never sees your eBay password. An eBay account can be connected to one workspace, once.

Answering buyers in the inbox

eBay tells ConnectWiz about a new message as soon as it is written, so new messages usually arrive within seconds. Scheduled checks catch anything a notification missed.

Each eBay conversation is its own conversation in the inbox. Two conversations with the same buyer, about two listings, are two conversations on the same contact. At the top of an eBay conversation you see the listing: its picture, title, price and item number, and View on eBay. A conversation that started with eBay's "Ask a question" button carries the badge Question about this listing.

eBay's rules for a reply

  • Plain text, up to 2,000 characters, and up to 5 files: images, PDF, Word documents and plain-text files.
  • No phone numbers, e-mail addresses or links before a sale. eBay's member rules forbid sharing them, and asking for them, until the buyer has bought from you. Until ConnectWiz holds an order from this buyer, the conversation shows Before a sale eBay does not allow sharing phone numbers, e-mail addresses or links., and a reply that contains one is not sent: it fails with that reason, before eBay sees it. After a sale, an agent may share them.
  • No offers to sell or pay outside eBay, and no marketing. eBay can restrict a seller account for either.

Wiz: drafts by default

On eBay, Wiz drafts a reply and an agent sends it. You can let Wiz answer on its own in the channel's AI settings. Either way, Wiz never writes a phone number, an e-mail address or a link, at any point in a conversation. A reply that cannot be made clean is handed to an agent instead.

eBay's terms forbid using eBay content to train AI. ConnectWiz answers with Wiz, but eBay conversations are never used for training: Use in AI training is refused on eBay messages.

Feedback in Comments

Feedback buyers leave you appears under Comments, one item per feedback. You see the rating (Positive, Neutral or Negative), the listing and any follow-up the buyer added.

  • eBay accepts one reply per feedback. It cannot be edited or deleted. The reply box says so before you send.
  • A reply is at most 500 characters, plain text, and must not contain personal details such as names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or links. A reply that breaks these rules is refused before it reaches eBay.
  • Feedback cannot be hidden, liked or answered privately.
  • Wiz only suggests a feedback reply. It never sends one, whatever the AI settings say.

Orders and returns on the contact card

A buyer's eBay orders appear on their contact card, with tracking once the order has shipped. eBay returns and cases (returns, Item not received and eBay cases) appear beside them, with eBay's deadline for your response.

These are read-only. Accepting a return or refunding money is done in eBay.

eBay stops showing a buyer's name, phone and address 90 days after an order, and ConnectWiz forgets them on the same day.

One customer, every channel

The eBay user name is how ConnectWiz recognises a buyer: the user name that writes to you is the same one on their orders. So a buyer's messages, feedback, orders and returns all meet on one contact, without a phone number.

A buyer who writes to you becomes a contact. An order on its own does not create one. It is linked when the buyer is already known, or when exactly one contact has the phone number on the order.

Messages from eBay

eBay's own messages to you as a seller (account notices, case updates, policy messages) do not go to the inbox. Open the channel (Settings → Channels → eBay, connection panel) and see Messages from eBay. They cannot be answered.

The connection panel

The channel's connection panel shows:

  • eBay account: your user name and home site.
  • Authorisation: Active, Expired — reconnect or Access removed — reconnect, and the date it is valid until.
  • Notifications: whether eBay's notifications are coming in, and the last one.
  • eBay call budget: eBay limits how many requests ConnectWiz may make each day, shared by every ConnectWiz workspace. While it is low, scheduled checks pause and only eBay's own notifications come through. Nothing needs to be done on your side.
  • Sync: the last message, feedback, order and returns syncs, the history import, the last error, and Sync now.

Troubleshooting

"Access removed — reconnect" or "Expired — reconnect". eBay ended ConnectWiz's access. This happens when the access is withdrawn on eBay, when the eBay user name or password is changed, or after about 18 months. Nothing new arrives and no reply can be sent. Click Reconnect and allow access again on eBay's page. Your conversations and history stay.

"This eBay account is already connected to another workspace." An eBay account can be connected once. Remove it from the other workspace first.

A reply failed with "…before a sale is completed…". The message contains a phone number, an e-mail address or a link, and this buyer has not bought from you. Remove it and send again.

"eBay did not grant every access ConnectWiz asked for". Some access was not allowed on eBay's page. The features that need it stay off until you click Reconnect and allow all access.

New messages arrive a few minutes late. eBay's notifications are not fully coming in (Notifications says Partly receiving or Not receiving). Until they are, ConnectWiz checks eBay on a schedule.

When a buyer asks eBay to delete their data

eBay tells ConnectWiz when one of its users closes their account and asks for their data to be deleted. ConnectWiz then deletes, in every workspace and permanently, that person's eBay conversations and feedback, and the personal details on their eBay orders and returns. A contact you also know from another channel keeps its card, without the eBay part. A contact that came only from eBay is deleted. This cannot be undone.
